A self-described catalyst, Jason Lempieri investigates subversion, history, and collective memory in his work. He designs from the perspective that form follows meaning.

He is the founder of RethinkTANKllc, a multi-disciplinary design and research studio that takes a macro approach to “post-industrial” design issues. Lempieri holds a B. Arch. from Pratt Institute and an M.I.D. from the University of the Arts.

He was selected as a Finalist in Metropolis Magazine’s Next Generation Competition for his graduate thesis, Urban Reincarnation. An avid urbanist, he proposed the activation of a neglected urban structure for memorializing and storing the ashes of loved ones. While a student at Pratt Institute, he also studied in Copenhagen, Denmark, Athens, Greece, and Nicosia, Cyprus. Lempieri has taught at Philadelphia University, University of Pennsylvania and and at the University of the Arts. He is a board member of COLLAB, a design related group at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Prior to forming RethinkTANKllc, he worked in several Philadelphia architecture firms. His product designs reach a global market and his award winning residence was published in the Wall Street Journal and The Philadelphia Inquirer. In addition to his passion for design, Jason Lempieri has a deep interest in contemporary art and photography.
